real talk, I think the stop signs are a large part of the problem. Roundabouts are supposed to slow people down, but stop signs make them think "stop and then go go go"

I was almost doored this morning exiting the roundabout onto Townsend. We have a lot of work still to do in order to make this street safe for biking!

or "vous n'avez pas la priorité" as they say in France (since roundabouts invert the usual rule that at an unsigned intersection you must yield to traffic to your right)

That said, the roundabouts in France do not tend to slow people down...
