Today is the day! In the Contiguous U.S., half of the normal season snow falls by January 19 and half falls after January 19. [Note: uses NCEI 1981-2010 normals] @AlaskaWx @IARC_Alaska

Didn't bother getting real data for the Big Island of Hawaii?

Interestingly, the places on the summits that get snow do not have published normal snowfall values by NCEI. There is surprisinglly little in the way of snow climatology for Hawai'i. What data there is, is quite old and incomplete.
