In 2017, Hudson County, NJ, permitted 10x as much housing per capita as Suffolk County, NY. The Bronx permitted more housing per capita than any other borough in NYC, although it was still half as much per capita as Hudson County.

Last year, San Francisco, Alameda & Santa Clara counties each permitted more housing per capita than any of NYC's five boroughs, Nassau, Suffolk or Westchester counties. Yikes!
