Phew! Thank god, we actually really *can* focus on arguing over parking, everybody. Such a relief. also too we’re doomed but there will be roses on all our graves
Just a reminder: The vast majority of people bare NO responsibility regarding climate change. 71% of carbon emissions stem from just 100 companies - The average person's personal behavior bares no consequence on climate change. We can't end the crisis by recycling more.

I'd reframe it this way... although perhaps it's also worth mentioning laws and regulations that apply at a smaller scale, e.g., affecting land use.

Blaming it on companies feels like it absolves us of the responsibility to change the laws and regulations that govern those companies, which is the only way we can get meaningful change.

There are two ways “average individuals” are responsible for climate change, both within our control: First, what we buy (e.g. don’t buy gasoline or Nutella unless you absolutely have to) Second, how we engage politics (voting is good but not nearly enough) OP absolves both

What’s so spectacularly stupid about the tweet is, there are countries in the OECD where per capita emissions are a tiny fraction of ours. If 100 companies were really to blame for the whole problem, that would not be possible.
