In this case the consequences are *intended*, and we want to let them propagate through the system. That's what markets are good at.

We should price negative externalities appropriately, and have appropriate low-distortion redistribution policies.
1
You're making the well-understood concept of negative externalities sound much more complicated than it is.

Good desserts can be made with dates, but I'm a bit sceptical that macarons are among them.

This means that I can't find things that I ordered since then by searching in my email.
The first email I have that *didn't* list the items was from 2014-11-29; the last that did list the items was from 2015-05-23.

In late 2014 and early 2015, order confirmation emails from auto-confirm@amazon.com gradually stopped listing the things that were ordered.
1
Did @amazon stop listing what I ordered in the confirmation emails so I have to search my past orders on their site instead of in my email?

We show CO₂ emissions by country of production, not country of consumption. The CO₂ emitted in China for things US uses counts as China's.

It's pretty clear from your speaking and writing that you're a good communicator in the ways that matter for most technology jobs.

Noncitizen colleagues generally tell me that SFO wait times are not as bad as other US ports of entry (but the 4th 747/A380 in 30 mins...)
Replying to @alon_levy
Yes. (And I have Global Entry, which usually makes entry even faster than for those without it.)
1
Whereas when arriving with preclearance, a half hour wait for a checked bag while they deal with transferring bags is normal.
On a non-precleared SFO arrival I have my checked bag within 5 mins of exiting immigration (<5 mins, w/ Global Ent) b/c all bags go to belt

Yeah, my worst experience in Canada was probably about 20-30, in YYZ. But DUB (Dublin) took longer and was set up poorly.
1
I dislike preclearance coming into US; SFO immigration is fast & baggage claim is much faster w/o preclearance. DUB preclearance was awful.

Which Schengen country would run it? (Normally the one you're entering.) And could it deal with the evening rush?

You mentioned the possibility of the decision being overturned on appeal, but didn't otherwise mention existence of an appeal: is there one?
