We really need to rewrite list numbering to use counters and not be tied to nsBlockFrame.
I've been pretty happy using Google Keep for grocery lists (on Android plus keep.google.com/ ).

Is the difference whether the browsers fire button's click for keypress, or whether keypress fires when focus changes mid-press?

I knew it was 1919-1938 just from looking; Wikipedia reduced it to 1937-1938.
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_o… is an example of what is awesome about Wikipedia. (Used it to date an old map on @tian_ben's cube wall.)
