I've never taken a trip that could show that bug, since all my eastward dateline crossings land in SFO & stay.

@khuey_ Definitely seen checkpoints with stations like that elsewhere recently. Probably LHR 5, but maybe TPE or SYD.

Oh, it works just fine -- it's just the GNOME UI is so ridiculous I nearly left in complete disgust. Will try XFCE tomorrow.

(1) and (3) are regressions in Ubuntu 16.04; (2) was around before but I feel like it's gotten worse recently

(3) unmaximizing gnome-terminal restores to almost-maximized instead of its original size

(2) screensaver sometimes powers off display without locking screen (despite settings) --> typing unlock password into webpages

Switched from Unity to GNOME, used Google to learn where GNOME's suspend UI is, nearly switched right back (despite bugs making me switch)

You should try riding the DC Metro a bit. Pay attention to the ads in stations like Ballston or Pentagon City.

I've had graphics glitches and some suspend issues with Surface Book, but fixed the latter by using hibernate.
