Replying to @stubbornella
@stubbornella @pamelafox @getify That's true for :hover and :active in quirks mode only (in at least some browsers). Not in standards mode.

A good proposal from @mattyglesias to end the massive government subsidies for living in hurricane-prone areas: slate.com/blogs/moneybox/201…
I made a substantive update to dbaron.org/css/intrinsic/ to better explain width distribution to columns (plenty more work needed, though).

@krnasz Did you add in property taxes too? (Less depressing that way.)
Replying to @sayrer
@sayrer en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:S… shows runway heading 192.2°, with 15.6° magnetic declination (true heading 207.8°). (How's that for geek out?)

Replying to @sayrer
@sayrer It's really closer to north than east, especially when you use magnetic north (which is what runway headings use, hence 19L/19R).

Is there a description somewhere of what's different in W3C HTML 5.1 relative to W3C HTML 5.0?

@TedMielczarek One could argue that it includes nuclear weapons. Just wait until we argue whether a >25 kiloton ban is constitutional.
