Yep. It’s been happening for a while. It’s that “boiling frog effect” thing - people don’t sense incremental changes of adoption.

The other issue is naming: #IoT is one term, but “Smart” is usually the same. (i.e. Smart watch). Avg person forgets that.

to me it seems like two extremes - us makers and some megacorps, not really much consumer-level stuff yet to fit in the middle
