Good news if you find yourself a survivor in Svalbard. Pickup some seeds too while you’re repopulating the world.
The #SchremsII judgment of the ECJ: Consequences for the practice of using Standard Data Protection Clauses I have summarised my initial assessment of the judgement in a small article. Have fun. delegedata.de/wp-content/upl… (pdf) #DSGVO #GDPR #dataprotection #PrivacyShield

For the past two years our kid has been using "FatNums", a slightly different numeral representation we came up with, for all her school arithmetic problems. She thought it'd be nice to write it up and share it. Here goes. parentheticallyspeaking.org/… #parenting

Even now, I tend to not rent from Hertz. If they had kept their policy in place, they would have had 20+ years of rentals from me because I was very loyal (and grateful) that they rented to me as a young adult. Company policy changes are more than just immediate numbers.
I used to rent from @Hertz when I was 20 via a program with @AAAauto. Rented two or three times. Then when I was 22, Hertz ended the program and refused to rent to me anymore; they said I could return when I was 25. I didn't return to them until I was 46. I hold grudges.

@Costco - I can't renew if it won't let me check the box. Oh, ignoring it and continuing brings me to the same checkbox, but without having to scroll. So I guess you already know this is broken for some of us and have devised a workaround. Might be better to just fix it?
“I called him late one evening to discuss the next day’s shooting. I asked, “Am I interrupting you?” He said, “No, I’m just lying here going through a litany of my failures.”

The tangled web of conflicted interest for the original two DAs covering Ahmaud Arbery's murder is more than I can fit in a tweet (I tried). You have to read it to believe it. Circling the wagons and protecting their own is not justice. abajournal.com/web/article/p…

Totally agree. And given it’s on Sci-Hub, others must feel the same way.

High school should be teaching teens the various scams they're likely to encounter over their lives. If no one was duped by these, we wouldn't see them anymore. Lesson 1: Chumps and Whales

To be fair, it’s more than just graffiti. But I agree, disappearing people is a very troubling development. dhs.gov/news/2020/07/16/acti…
