Perhaps your mobile carrier sells data to a broker, so while the browser is incognito, your mobile carrier knows who you are. Or uses unique headers, although I thought they stopped doing it, eg: ftc.gov/system/files/documen…

That's the reason I don't attend @defcon, the last time I went (2012?), I stood in line the entire time, missed all the talks I wanted to see, and haven't been back. Bravo to all of those fine folx who don't seem to mind.

Totally fair to want employees to show up at a desk. Also totally fair for those employees to want a wage that allows living close by. Median house price in Menlo Park is $2,268,600. For 28% mortgage ratio, wage has to be higher ~$475k / year, with a sign on bonus of ~$725k.

My wife worked for @HP in Canada years ago and there was a critical shipment of printers held up because the cargo ship was blocked by ice. My wife solved it by hiring an ice breaker ship to clear a path to port, it was less expensive than defaulting on the shipment.
