One of the more frustrating things about genealogy is trying to get vital records (births, deaths, etc) from states that don't allow open access on old records. Latest is Iowa, I have a relative that was born there in 1919 and died in 1979, but I'm not eligible for it.

He didn't have kids, his only sibling also didn't have kids, that entire lineage is gone. Fortunately, my dad is still here, and he is eligible, so he can make the request, but I am saddened for all of those who lose their connection to the past.
