I’ve heard about the massive cybersecurity talent void for over 6 years now and in that time I’ve seen people desperate to dip their toes and dive head first into the deep end of this field so what has been missing?

A CISO named Mike Johnson summed it up well: mature security programs can take on junior talent, strapped or recently launched teams cannot. Companies racing to “have SecOps” are all fighting over the same exp talent. We need to collectively invest in skills development.

My small team hired three entry-level people and are training them. Just requires someone on the team with the skills to do the training.
