Oh dear, that's no good! Mine is soaking too, but I think I might lose the pan over it, maybe I can recycle the metal. 馃槙

Ours is stainless steel and not the first time it's happen, so I already know it will clean up like new. If you have a non-stick pan, you'll want to toss it. The coating doesn't tolerate high heat and will leak chemicals into your food, even if it cleans up ok.

Good tips! It's a stainless steel Cuisinart but the first disaster like this. If it was non-stick then I'd be airing the whole house out. 馃あ

Last time, the burned crust layer just peeled off after soaking, and with a bit of scrubbing, the rest came off. But some steel wool might work too if yours sticks to the bottom.

That's really promising! Thanks Bil 馃槂

Seems soapy water soaking overnight didn't do the trick... so I am trying baking soda and vinegar for an overnight 馃馃

Can you chip away at it? Or is it adhered onto the bottom? Steel wool might help.

I tried chipping with a metal spatula, maybe steel wool will sand it down. The baking soda and vinegar trick worked on the oven post-turkey day after the spatchcocked bird didn't fit in the roasting pan and the juices burned the over. Updates tomorrow! Live at 10! 馃ぃ

The Dremmel tool has a small sander, that might work?
