Un accord 🇫🇷🇩🇪🇦🇹🇨🇭 pour faire renaître le Trans Europ Express sera signé aujourd’hui. Cela signifie une alternative écologique sérieuse au transport aérien et une meilleure interconnexion entre les métropoles européennes !

I noticed it goes around Luxembourg on all sides, ouch! I wonder if that’s to protect Luxair’s short-haul flights?

Luxembourg (country) is ~625.000 inhabitants, 122.000 for the city, so building fast train will hardly be financially viable any time soon (besides the TGV to Paris, that was going to Metz anyway). Unless there is the political will to improve that, it won't happen.

The original TEE used to include Lux, and there are plenty of commuters into Lux from BE, FR, and DE, plus CJEU is there, seems like it could be easily added and is odd it wasn’t. But maybe the cost/benefit isn’t there...
