Likely the same disconnect in infosec: wanting to hire someone with years of experience in a particular domain. Rules out people with related experience and rules out people just starting. Solution is to hire and train people, that’s how we filled last 2 infosec roles.

That has to be frustrating. I wonder if networking and/or mentoring would help? Or maybe it’s a numbers game and just requires applying to dozens of roles?
I do get it’s odd hearing there’s demand for privacy pros, and then having trouble landing one...
