Having avoided grains/sugar for the last 4 months and seeing the benefits from it first-hand, I'd like to take this old tweet back - I now have a *much* better understanding what @harari_yuval actually meant. @DrPaulMason @FructoseNo @ProfTimNoakes @drjasonfung @nntaleb #lowcarb

Yes, but for the parts where he argues agricultural revolution was a mistake and that we are better off as hunter-gatherers!

What benefits did you see first hand Laksh?

It is a very long list - I’ll probably do a blog post sometime in the future. For now, I’ll just say that I’ve lost about 30 pounds till date but, in hindsight it is my LEAST favorite benefit. What started as a weight loss journey has completely transformed my life.

Congrats! Similar story for me, I lost 40lbs since October by cutting out wheat, meat, dairy, oil, and sugar. I eat mostly vegan, avoid most of the processed vegan food, and instead stick to fruits, vegetables, legumes, etc. Biggest benefit I’ve noticed is the brain clarity.

I’m staying away from fruits in general (fructose) - but, I’ll have organic berries rarely and in moderation. Most freakish phenomenon: My “carb craving” is now “fat craving” - gut-brain connection is fascinating. Might be unpopular opinion, but red meat has a bad rap 😉

And congrats to you as well 🙂. IIRC, @manicode was/is on keto - back then, I mistook it to be a fad and unfortunately didn’t pay much attention.

People are so varied, as long your health improves, eat more of that! One upside to being home 24x7 is I can really stick to my meal plan, vs being tempted to grab something easy while out.
