If there’s one thing I’ve learned from all this time apart, it’s that Apple TV+ has the worst iOS app of any major streaming service. Really quite shocking it’s from Apple.

I can’t figure out what any of the shows are about. So the only one I’ve watched is The Morning Show, and that was because I saw an ad on Twitter, and even that ended up being misleading about the content of the show.

I’ve watched a few Apple TV+ originals that I really enjoyed, but the player UI & performance really impacts the experience in a negative way, eg half the time “resume episode” doesn’t work & I have to fast forward from the beginning.

I’ve used a lot of streaming services over the years and it’s pretty clear Apple wanted to forge something bold and new. Makes sense from a branding perspective, but the utility is disappointing on many levels. I suppose if that was my only choice, I’d make it work, but it isn’t.
