Today @CiscoUmbrella filed an IPR claim on an IETF draft specifying how resolvers can serve 'stale' data in case of outages. Cisco will allow use of its patent, but catch is you can't ever enforce a patent against Cisco afterwards datatracker.ietf.org/ipr/358… & datatracker.ietf.org/3590/
