It's against the law to not allow that but they can make it harder to find cnet.com/news/companies-must… Just dig around and almost always there is a way in my experience

I make a good faith effort to cancel, and if it’s too hard or involves too much hoop jumping, I dispute the charge with my credit card company. Works every time.
