Someone said to me “you can choose to have a technical conference or a diverse/inclusive conference” and I stubbornly thought I could have both - thoughts?

Maybe the complaint is when a conference is focused on diversity, there are talks/panels about diversity rather than technical talks? Hoping that’s it vs BS belief that diversity sacrifices standards by including those that haven’t earned it.
