I stopped requiring certs and degrees in lieu of experience years ago - I saw co-workers with tons of experience trapped because they didn’t have them. And I made an effort to have entry-level jobs available for people without experience. InfoSec has many paths.

Entry level jobs are so key. Consider apprenticeships and train people; share what you know! People are loyal and stay with those who invest in them!

Too true. And this is why senior folks keep jumping ship too. I saw data that senior cybersec people get weekly calls about jobs. Even if you hold out, eventually you listen out of curiosity.
