Apparently the compliance requirement of having a locked perimeter doesn’t include changing the factory default code for the simplex lock. This one may or may not be protecting bank data... Any PhySec people find defaults in use often? Compliance is not security!

I took a tour of data center where similar gates were used to segment larger tenant spaces. Problem was that the floor was raised and all it took to bypass the gate was to lift a floor tile and crawl under.

Yeah. Lots of ways for additional bypass, but more conspicuous. If I were the bank/customer requesting perimeter compliance here, I’d be pissed about defaults used that allow inconspicuous entry.
