Mike was one of the first people I met in infosec, and he gave me my second job at MAD Security. I was always happy when our paths crossed, such an awesome human. I’m forever grateful to him, and will miss him dearly. 💔

Oh, what’s this important information about my recent vehicle service? (See thread for surprise)

News broke that @nexteraenergy was fined $8 million for illegally killing eagles. What I think is interesting is this bit from their corporate code of conduct. (Image source: investor.nexteraenergy.com/~…)

It's great that you correctly excluded that deduction, but I had to do a lot of sleuthing to figure out why and your bad advice panels did not help. Please fix it. /fin
The bad news is unless you manage to find the help panel with the correct advice, you will not know that this expense has change; nothing in the workflow for this deduction tells you. I only figured it out because Form 3903 you filled out for me had a warning on it.

The good news is I click "Learn More" from inside the moving expense deduction workflow, it finally gives correct advice.

Clicking "Learn More" from the main list brings up this outdated advice that is no longer valid. This is WRONG information.

If I click on "Learn More" from the main deductions list, it gives incorrect advice (see next tweet).

Since only active military members can qualify, what do you think your very first question should be for anyone looking for this deduction? Spoiler, you don't ask, instead, it's outdated with the old work-related moving that no longer exists. This is WRONG information:

@TeamTurboTax 🧵This is a suggestion to improve the 2021 product so that your customers do not waste their time entering moving expense deduction information when they may not qualify. What is the primary condition to qualify? Must be active military: ttlc.intuit.com/community/cr…

A reminder that the State of Utah sends their employees to Mexico to fill expensive prescriptions. wqad.com/article/news/utah-s…
Cost of a root canal in Barcelona: $450 Cost of a root canal in Sacramento: $2200 Round trip ticket to Barcelona: $800 Hotel and food for 3 days in Barcelona: $600 I could fly to Barcelona, get a root canal, and have money left when I got back. American health care is a scam.

That’s why I like the Finnish model. All schools get the same funding and opportunities. Makes no difference where you live. Their whole approach is to make education equitable.

Do you live in Palo Alto? That school district is fanatical. Told me they would send the police to make sure I really lived at my address. 🙄

The ridiculous lengths the State of Arizona makes you jump through to switch to in-state college tuition to establish "residency". Oddly, they have very little requirements to establish residency for tax purposes.

This is what I use, it’s a travel backpack. If you don’t want the weight on your back, then get the one with rollers. But when I walk through NYC, so glad to not be pulling anything. Note that this is ALL I bring, no other carry ons. ebags.com/landingpages/reaso…

There’s nothing to look into. You charged me $50 and provided nothing I used or can use. It’s cancelled now.

The other creepy part of it is they require your printer to always be on and connected to the internet. I'm not sure who would be a good customer for #InstantInk, but I struggle to think of any use case where it makes sense.
