Having worked in both, I agree.
Perhaps illustrative is the startup job description that has so many responsibilities that it takes 50 people to cover the same at big tech.

Not currently. We’ve hired (and trained) three different entry-level roles over the past year (SOC, AppSec, Compliance), but don’t have any currently.
Definitely the industry could do a better job of creating more entry roles instead of complaining about lack of candidates.

Enthusiasm to learn the job. That’s it. No degrees. No certs. No special knowledge. Just a desire to get a foot in the door and learn. Anything beyond that is not an entry-level position.
I think some companies want experienced employees at entry-level prices.

I have a child with CP. We’ve spent an insane amount of money over the years supplementing the meager covered services.
And those covered services? They make you fight for it, esp. school districts.
The system is happy to throw these kids away so long as it keeps costs down.
My insurance decided I no longer need physical therapy 🎉 for my lifelong disability 🎉 that will never get better 🎉 Because my insurance company 🎉 clearly knows more than me 🎉 the dude with Cerebral Palsy 🎉
