I’d take it one step further, you’re talking about Article 19 of the UN Rights of the Child. E2EE ensures the child can exert their right to privacy under Article 16. And E2EE also provides safety to gay teens in certain countries, where they face arrest and death.

I agree with the overall sentiment that platforms should work to curtail CSAM, however I don't think it's fair to characterize end-to-end encryption as "a secondary Dark Web". E2EE is the cornerstone of a just and free society. internetsociety.org/intercom…

Disappointed that @netflix cancelled The OA after two seasons, one of the few shows I actually watch on Netflix. Perhaps it wasn't popular overall, but I bet for those that watched the series, it was in their top 5.

Years ago, an Indian call center called my desk phone at PayPal, their pretense was “Windows support.” Chatted with them for a half-hour while I pretended to enable remote desktop sharing.
