I don't think it's going to go out with a bang, but the slow decay has definitely already started. (the SMS verification codes don't work now)

nobody could have predicted this 😂 but yeah, this is why the most common next step after logging in is these services asking for your email so they have a recovery path

If your web app uses Twitter to log users in, this would be a great time to add some alternative authentication methods! You may also want to make a plan to handle account recovery for people who have already deleted their Twitter accounts...

The "live rent-free in my head" meme is one of my favorite things. And if you don't know what that is, go look it up, and then it will live rent-free in your head.

Turns out we've been living in a video game this whole time
leave Twitter just because the servers are about to shut down and the CEO is abusive? Babe, I'm in video games

This is your scheduled periodic reminder, for no particular reason, that now is a good time to review the third party OAuth apps that have access to your Twitter account, and remove any that you don't recognize or haven't used in a while. ➡ nitter.vloup.ch/settings/connect…

Ironically the problem is already solved if the protocol worked the other direction, aka the web. We know how to scale websites to be able to be accessed by millions of people at a time.

Has anyone else noticed their suggested tweets as well as ads on twitter have gotten significantly worse today?

It's actually worse than that, the protocol itself needs some serious work to scale it up too.

I'm sorry to all of my followers who are still taking this Twitter news seriously. I just cannot with it anymore 😂 any earnest discussion about what Twitter™ should do just feels pointless now

Oh I see Twitter verification is going great today

You have to open twitter, log in on the car, place your phone on the ground and then run it over to scan the QR code that appears underneath the vehicle and it has to be scanned while you are listening to the new Taylor Swift album or it won’t work.
