There will be a wave of financial settlements that local governments will need to pay due to widespread police brutality & misconduct over the last few weeks.
Taxpayers should not be footing the bill. Responsibility needs to lie with those perpetrating these harms.
I was arrested on June 2nd, 2020 with around 100 other protesters in Los Angeles. While I was ziptied and facing the wall, two male officers joked behind me about my gender presentation: "Do you think it's a female? Are you sure?"
Queer eye but it’s 5 black women who come in and tell police forces how to undo systemic racism in the justice system. Also they get paid double whatever the fab 5 gets paid. #BlackLivesMatter
have y’all ever heard anyone say it’s “just one bad doctor”???? naw. they lose their licenses, they get sued, they get thrown in JAIL for medical malpractice. why? bc there’s no room for mistakes or error in a profession that you swear to protect and help the people, PERIOD
yeah, totally depends on the city. in any case I'd start by asking friends in the area for recommendations of contractors, and keep getting referrals til you find a general contractor or builder who you can talk to.
Dear corporations and venture capital firms making supportive posts and vowing to be part of the solution,

Hi if you have white privilege you can't renounce or ditch it.
Entire systems and structures have been set up to give you unearned advantages. Many of the conditions of yr life, education, career, health, home, etc have unearned advantages.
Face this, AND do antiracist work.
As @danielpunkass described, this is a solid move. You literally can’t do anything else in For You, Browse, or Radio except listen to this Beats1 station. Love this from @AppleMusic
And for the complainers, you can still search and access your library. Calm down.
I love it, but it's also a great way to protect the remaining unbroken glass panels. We don't know for sure, but those panels probably cost almost $500k each to replace.
People are saying that whitelist/blacklist are etymologically not discriminatory and have nothing to do with races. You're probably correct, but there are modern connotations, so the etymology doesn't matter.
Everyone in the tech industry has come across the terms "whitelist"(desirable) and "blacklist"(undesirable). We should start deprecating this terms for less racially charged language, like "safelist", "blocklist". Tech can be less exclusionary @venikunche@EmmaBostian @ugonna_t
While I don’t pretend to have all the answers, I’m encouraging creators to create and post their content for the people who need it and rely on them.
But to respectfully not push or promote in conversation platforms.
Respect that.
I feel it’s an appropriate balance.
