Definitely reinstall. Unfortunately I have no advice on how, it's been a decade since I've installed Windows.

(if the copyright owner decides to monetize your video vs ask it to be removed) It's never okay to use someone else's copyrighted work without their permission. YouTube has kinda blurred that line by making it easy for copyright holders to find and monetize vs just takedown.

It's probably a website wrapped in a native app too 😭

I can't stand when projects do this. For me it's a sign that the library is overengineered and I probably don't want to use it anyway.

Exactly why we bridge all of IRC, Slack, Matrix and Discord for the IndieWeb chat. Regardless of where you join from it's all the same chat. indieweb.org/discuss

Sure, and in that case, share a domain with a friend/community you trust. My problem was very specifically with your wording "go get a Mastodon somewhere" for these two similar but unrelated reasons: indieweb.org/own_your_data indieweb.org/plurality

Nope, email *domain* not email server. My email address is @parecki.com but it's gmail behind it. That means I can swap out gmail for running my own server later and nobody who emails me will ever notice. That's the difference.

Sure, but I just don't think a blanket "join a mastodon somewhere" statement is really beneficial overall.

Unless you're running it on your own domain, you don't own your mastodon identity, the server admin does. Sure it's better than the Twitter monolith, but getting a mastodon account "somewhere" doesn't solve the underlying #indieweb problem.

Sadly mine requires manual action to start/stop individual trips. It'll passively track *everything*, but not intelligently like Moves used to do.

Yeah trains are super fun! I'd love to do a long one like that some time. Maybe next time I go to Montreal!

eh I fly so much I show up at the airport a few minutes before boarding and it's fine with precheck and such. But it's true in the end it still takes about 4-6 hours total for the 1-hour flight.

but wait there are plenty of valid cases for dropping punctuation for stylistic purposes too

Okay this may have convinced me to take the much shorter 8 hour train from Portland to Vancouver for the next IETF meeting

Yeah there's no chat on the website as far as I can tell. I only see it in the twitter app. but also it disappears real quick so it's pretty frustrating compared to youtube streams!

Not totally sure the context of this, but have you at least read the OAuth docs around this exact problem? tools.ietf.org/html/rfc6819#… That's the reason OAuth uses a different flow for native apps and SPAs. I'll be curious to see your blog post!

so I looked up that product, and somehow found a bunch of "related" products and now I am deep in the hole of researching laser engravers which are apparently not that expensive and are also very small now.
