Also remember indieweb is not all about self-hosting, it's about online identity ownership. If I own my domain, I can move providers, which is true of websites as well as email.
Fair question. Primarily: email != web, and the effort to self-host email is far greater than that of websites. Part of why I'm so frustrated with this situation is I had a good setup going where I am using my own domain as my email, it just happens to be powered by Gmail.
Same authentication failed message. I've tried every combination of TLS/SSL and port number in that list.
They made some breaking change this morning, and rolled it back, but apparently didn't roll it back far enough.
This is Gmail itself though. Also Mail.app now goes through the Google OAuth flow to set it up so it wouldn't even be testing the same thing. That's why I went and found an SMTP client in PHP and tried sending an email through that and it worked fine.
so far I have:
* changed my password
* reset my two-factor-auth
* deleted and re-added this account in Gmail
* tried every combination of TLS and port number
I can send email via SMTP from a small script, I just can't get Gmail to send via SMTP between accounts.
I'm still having trouble. This works when sending email from a script, but Gmail can't talk to Gmail's own SMTP servers right now using the same account info.
@gmail I'm trying to add another Gmail account in the "send thru your SMTP server" in Gmail, and I'm getting "Authentication failed". The same password and port work sending directly from a script. Everything was working yesterday, and broke today. Help?
Depends on your definition of social media: en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Soci…
According to that, none of us were even alive at the origins of social media.
I’m about 75% of the way to having a permanent recording setup in place, it’s already saved me time even tho it’s not perfect.
I still struggle with how scripted the dialogue should be. The less scripted the more editing. The more scripted, the worse the final result.
also what voodoo do you use that allows you to start filming a video the night before it’ll be released?? you must really have your post-production workflow down!
I tend to spend 3x more time editing than filming.
btw thanks for this, it turned out to be an extremely useful purchase! I can’t even count the number of times this SD card adapter has been useful to me!
I've seen a similar problem outputting from HDMI devices into certain monitors. Turns out HDMI has two different color modes, RGB and YUV, and some devices only support one or the other. If the camera has a setting for that, it might fix it, but I'm betting it does not.
