there's a *lot* of space between Twitter and static sites. But if you really want to go with a static site deployment model, there's lots of options for adding dynamic bits to make them work more like twitter: indieweb.org/static_site

Some do! But further down it says the CLI app can launch the browser on the machine if it has the ability to do so. Same flow under the hood tho.
