If OpenID started today it would likely see 1,000x adoption in the next 6 months. There is a need for a new privacy-first single sign-in solution from a trusted source.

Not just from *a* trusted source, since that's what got us into this mess in the first place. IndieAuth is all about letting each person choose an auth provider they trust, even if that is themselves. It's the original goals of OpenID built on OAuth.

Indeed. But for that good reason, it became too complicated and technical. That's why I suspect most of OpenID's integrations on wikipedia are legacy companies. I'm trying to think about the best alternative to say, Facebook Connect.

What about this Aaron? Saving the min details that would be used for logging into other sites. The company that hosts that data doesn't use it for anything - just sits there for the purpose of other sites permitting login.
