That's actually my biggest gripe about indieweb. I can't stand microformats.

What is your objection to them? If you haven't looked in a while, microformats 2 made a lot of changes.

1. I don't like the way it pollutes the dom with classnames that are not used for styling, without a namespace or any real consistency.

2. Would much rather see it use namespaced data-* attributes.

3. Also, most parsers that consume them only work if you render your HTML server-side.
