Sure, tools exist to make that easier, but plain and simple setting up a personal domain is not easy for most folks

It wasn't the design, but the history page stops at 2012 so I think I assumed that was the end of the IndieAuth story

Not a bad idea, as long as it doesn't reveal any personal information like who's using it or what sites they sign in to.

Number of sign-ins per month since 2012. If that info is not available, then just monthly number of hits on the site until now would suffice
