Day 6 of my 10 day trip and I'm only 377mb into my 3gb German SIM card and I haven't even been trying to conserve data.

That's crazy! This is a Lebara SIM, 3gb for 15€/month! (No voice or SMS, but I do that through Google Voice and iMessage)
