@vtcraghead @enf so my thought for this app is to always run GPS when away from home. maybe only when plugged in? is always-gps right?

@vtcraghead @enf …or is network/less-precise GPS enough for your use cases?
1
@iandees @vtcraghead I don't think network location could do well enough for a map like this, but it would be great to prove me wrong
1
@iandees @vtcraghead I'll go so far as to say 2sec or 50ft samples are good enough, don't need to log every second, but still a high bar
1
@enf @vtcraghead yea, i'm trying for "highest-res when enough battery until you stop moving. start again when accelerometer detects mvmt"

@iandees @enf I suspect @caseorganic has already tackled problems like this within the confines of existing platforms/SDKs.

@vtcraghead @enf @caseorganic i bet lots of folks have this code hidden inside their app. i want something simpler tho :)
1
@iandees @enf @caseorganic I mean, the android options are already pretty tuneable: developer.android.com/refere…
1
@aaronpk @vtcraghead @enf oh that's nice! i'm thinking exactly the same thing but with less options and more opinion

Replying to @iandees
@iandees @vtcraghead @enf Yeah, I use this to test what changing the settings does to accuracy vs battery. Agreed about more opinion!
