@aaronpk I'd try adding 4.7K ohm pull-up resistors to the i2c lines. One from Vcc to SDA, one from Vcc to SCL. Good luck!

@aaronpk I haven’t done any hardware work in a long while so I’m not sure, but I think the - for starts with tri-stated outputs...

@aaronpk you might want to use a resistor to pull one of those lines to ground initially to see if that gives you what you want.
