I often wonder what would happen if you took some legacy service and completely redesigned it for the smartphone era plus modern aesthetic and lifestyle choices. @citizenM is that experiment for hotels. Not for everyone, but this is ideal for a certain traveler segment.

You get a womb-like pod that TBH is as good or better than your average NYC hotel room which is basically a rundown, poorly-designed version of the below. The common area is a combination of hipster bar and WeWork that's open 24/7.
I will live in the pod. I will eat the bugs.

It's an international chain that exists in precisely the cities nomads prefer. Everything from reservation to controlling the blinds and TV are centered on the app. You don't need to talk to anyone to check in. It's like a floating bedroom/coworking in every city you'd travel.
