Every time i use my Windows computer I feel like I'm stuck under water and every time i press a button some other button gets pressed instead. I'm sure it's fine if you're used to it, but wow I just feel incompetent trying to use it.

After hacking on Windows native MSVC builds for about a month in an emulator, it stopped feeling so weird. But it was a struggle for weeks. Muscle memory is extremely hard to overcome. "Mind over matter" — I think not.

oh gosh, I feel like I'm using an emulator every time I interact with this physical windows laptop. It just doesn't respond as fast, the trackpad is wildly less accurate, it feels like I'm one step removed from the interactions with the computer

What laptop do you have? I am on a Surface Pro 8 and the responsiveness is fully comparable to the MBP pro… well, the win10 one, at least. I have another SP8 w win11 and that one is indeed a bit laggy 😅

It's the Razer Stealth 13, I bought it in 2019 so it's not exactly new, but it was new and best of class at the time! I did just update it to Windows 11 because it basically forced me to.

Oh yeah — with a bad physical track pad it's Impossible. I tried that years ago and gave up: onebigfluke.com/2017/04/disc… At least when I'm using a Mac emulating Windows I get to use a decent keyboard and trackpad even if the mappings are slightly different. Abort!
