not sure what makes me more mad about thi... that a driver plowed through someone I know w/o stopping for a red signal... Or that so many people are so biased they are unable to see this as a clear case of careless, distracted, reckless driving and are hellbent on victim blaming.
CW: On bike ride to World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims event today, @bikeloudpdx member Mark Linehan was hit by van driver who ran a red light on SE Division/119th. A hit-and-run. Thankfully Mark is not srsly hurt. Video via @amitzilight #pdxtraffic #pdxalerts

Nobody is victim blaming. What is being said is that had these cyclists been more cautious and obeyed their own traffic control devices that he wouldn't have been hit. I am more than willing to give these cyclists a safety course.

In your still frame, you've circled the crosswalk as it's counting down, it's well over 9 seconds at that point. I'm sure you're aware that crosswalk signals start counting down while it's still safe for pedestrians to be crossing.

O.R.S. 814.010 (6) (b) A pedestrian shall not start to cross the roadway in the direction of a signal showing a “Wait” or “Don’t Walk” or any other symbol approved under ORS 810.200 and 810.210 indicating that the pedestrian may not proceed.

If any pedestrians remain in the crosswalk while the countdown starts its a hot floor!
