I dodged a bullet, and told the scammer off through our email exchange. Much to my surprise, he broke the facade and actually responded. We talked back and forth for a few days before going our separate ways.

Months later, he reached back out asking me to delete a tweet I made that called out his scam, as it was successfully deterring people from downloading the virus. I declined.

I had nothing to lose at this point, so I asked him if he’d be willing to do an interview. For some reason, he agreed. Since I was so “friendly” with him, he let slip a lot of personal information (such as his name and his YouTube channel).

Over the next few months, I continued to gain the scammers trust. Eventually, I lied and told him that I was running low on money, and needed to earn some extra cash. So I asked him if I could be a part of his scam. He said yes.

He added me to all of their group chats, which gave me all their information, all the viruses they’ve been sending out, every payout made over the past 6 months… and also the names and contact information of every single person involved.

Naturally, all this information has been archived and forwarded to the proper authorities. As of writing this tweet, I am still in the group chats, and they haven’t figured out I’ve betrayed them. I don’t expect this to last long.

To anyone who is confused: the above listed products/services are VALID and REAL services that you can use. However, the scammers are currently PRETENDING to be those aforementioned brands in order to trick creators into downloading their virus.
