My “either everyone is crazy or I am” cultural phenomenon that I don’t get is the Apple Watch. Why pay $300 for a new source of daily battery anxiety, incomprehensible complications, and 30 apps you never use? Been giving it a shot from series 1 to 6 but it’s still subpar.

My main usage of it is as a GPS logger that I have total control over - I start an "outdoor walk" any time I'm out somewhere interesting and export the GPS points from the iPhone Health app later - 2.5m points and counting!

What kind of resolution does that give you? I've still been running my iOS app for years because it's the only thing I've found that can track continuously and also give me 1 second resolution during transit

That's excellent resolution! I don't suppose there's any way to get the data out of the watch/phone without some sort of manual effort?
