If your company is big enough to roll out a mandatory VPN on personal iOS devices, they are big enough to buy you a work phone
IT just rolled out a mandatory VPN across all iOS devices and I’m debating what to do. The security risks are real, but intercepting all network traffic on my phone/tablet is crossing a new privacy line. If I unenroll it my productivity will tank with no email access. 🧐🤔

Cisco knows a thing or two about security and did not require VPNs to access email or company messaging on mobile devices. Presumably those go over TLS anyway. They did require strong passcodes and a device profile that allowed them to remote wipe lost devices.

Each point is crap: #1 – My office barely communicated while IN office, communication has had to go up. #2 – Am I doing my job? Yes? Then that’s all the trust my managers need. #3 – Commuting anywhere near Boston sucks. #4 – Already don’t belong due to age and education level.

Also, if a corporate policy tanks your productivity, that's a them problem not a you problem.
