Since people are still replying to this, let me be clear: Yes, I know how bitcoin works. It's called a joke. Pointing out that I'm wearing a mask and have pronouns in my bio does not make you look cool. If you reply and have "bitcoin" in your bio, my robot will autoblock you.

No.

No. Instead turn off the fiat money system, the (digital) fiat money printers, and the gold mining system. We have Bitcoin now, so all that stuff is useless.

It is insane that proof of work is what you are trying to attack and not any of the other much worse actors. Go after chemical and petroleum refineries, factory farms, et al. Don’t be ridiculous. The upside of censorship resistant fraud proof stores of value is way higher. Smh.

Now do clothes dryers.

(reposting the math here, for ref) - There are 130M US households - An avg household uses 12000 KWh / yr (EPA) - Dryers are 6% of household energy consumption (EPA), which = 720 KWh / yr - 720 KWh * 130M = 93.6 TWh - Bitcoin uses 70-120 TWh (estimates vary) ^ that's just the US

Bitcoin uses less energy than clothes dryers, yet you don't see all these disingenuous hypocrites talking about how they can Save The Planet™ by simply hanging up their clothes and waiting a bit longer; they wouldn't dare subject themselves to the indignity of mild inconvenience

Bitcoin will consume more electricity than all countries combined and even more in a few years; successfully securing the most valuable asset for humans which is TIME. Exactly what the USD is stealing from us at the moment.
