Since people are still replying to this, let me be clear: Yes, I know how bitcoin works. It's called a joke. Pointing out that I'm wearing a mask and have pronouns in my bio does not make you look cool. If you reply and have "bitcoin" in your bio, my robot will autoblock you.

It honestly feels like an important step towards saving the planet is to either carry out a successful 51% attack against Bitcoin or work some kind of cryptographic flaw into Bitcoin core and break the whole thing that way

No, that’s the beauty of it. It’s *decentralized*. There’s no single power cord or warehouse full of servers somewhere. The only way to kill Bitcoin is to create a better product so Bitcoiners will individually decide to leave the network. That starves it to death. Good luck
