I'm conducting an experiment. I've disabled all mid-roll ads from my YouTube channel for the month of September. I'm going to see how it affects my ad revenue. If the impact isn't too heavy, I'll leave them off. Either way, I'll let you know the impact. 🤓

if @YouTube had a partner program where we could opt in and push premium only ads - i'd be so down. especially a system where we could record our own placements. i'd rather people understood that they could support us by removing ads all together.

Patrick you could get your result of “support us w/o ads” by promoting channel membership in each video. “I’m doing this instead of running ads; please sign up”. It’d be interesting… you’d likely give up revenue from people who signed up for YouTube premium and won’t pay twice.

so manually remove ads and promote membership. not bad! i think there's more value in premium for the viewer than my sorry face though. i dont have the channel membership option either :(

Yeah that’s the challenge… you get three YouTubers asking for this and suddenly you’re paying more than you were for premium. What’s your sub count? You have to ASK for membership ability.

They say 30K is the minimum to qualify in their docs, but they've been reaching out to other people (myself included) who are way under 30K offering it. I haven't decided if I'm gonna go that route yet either tho.
