Yep, that’s a nope from me as well. Services and software should AUGMENT what’s possible today, not impair it.

BMW is exploring software-as-a-service such as pay for the number of months a year you want your heated seats to work. Sorry, but if this catches on, I will never buy another new car. Never. There are plenty of classic cars without this nonsense. cnet.com/roadshow/news/bmw-v…

I sure hope they’ll be reasonable in the end! I can understand not streaming traffic info, but purposefully disabling local hardware is handbook artificial scarcity
