So suddenly a bunch of people my age are having houses built as their first house, which seems... absurd given how unattainable that originally sounded. If I DID want to look in2 tht, any recommendations on quickly finding out how much it might cost w/o signing up for phone spam?

Okay, so a general rule my dad has on build a house is how luxury do you want it? His general price per square foot is from $50 to $65. This also depends on what State you live at well.

Okay that's way for feasible than the 300 per Sq ft someone else said lol

permit fees, water and sewer hookup fees, city development charges, it all adds up. that's the price of building in the middle of a city 馃し

Well of course living smack in the middle of a city will most likely cost. I'm sure in a average neighborhood most could be per square foot is $80

yeah, totally depends on the city. in any case I'd start by asking friends in the area for recommendations of contractors, and keep getting referrals til you find a general contractor or builder who you can talk to.

This is why I love Texas. But correct always research and find good general contractors.
