Ok I’m getting frustrated. Can anyone get a Ninja V to record an Apple computer monitor? No matter what I do I can’t get the ninja to work. The Mac sees it but the ninja doesn’t show input. Works perfectly fine with the shinobi, but I can’t record with the shinobi.

Update. It works. Maybe it’s because I have an actual HDMI output port and you’re having issues with USB-C? Let me test on a 2018 mac. Hang tight.

Also if you’re SHINOBI is seeing it - try passing through the SHINOBI to the Ninja. There’s no reason the Ninja should be able to read the output from the SHINOBI. I’m gonna test a USB-C to HDMI just thought of that now though.

Yeah I want to do that but the shinobi doesn’t do pass through 😭

Oh damn I thought it did. So... looks like usb c mac’s aren’t sending signal to the Ninja. You’re right that it sees the monitor but no image shows up.

why do i feel like it would work with Apple's expensive A/V dongle and somehow it's the cable that's causing issues.

I’m using the first party expensive hdmi port dongle to check.

Do you have another brand of USB-C to HDMI dongle? I've had mixed luck with the Apple one depending on what I'm plugging it into. I've started carrying three different brand dongles when I travel cause I can never be sure it'll work with arbitrary AV systems.
