yikes… well I guess I won't be doing this again! What a bummer… was fun while it lasted!

I'd happily leave your commentary in one tab and the Apple stream in another! I'm sure it'd be close enough in sync to work. As long as you aren't rebroadcasting their audio/video it'd be fine.

Yep, exactly what I was thinking for next time. Still a bummer though.

Yeah, especially because by most reasonable arguments yours would be considered a derivative work, and not subject to takedowns, but that sounds like not a fun argument to have with Apple/YouTube

Not sure I follow. Do you mean parody/fair use? (Isn't the right to make derivative works one of the exclusive rights of copyright?)

oops yeah that's what I meant. The point is it's not just a rebroadcast, since his stream has its own personality and original content, nobody is gonna watch his and think it's the real Apple stream. Still not a battle I'd want to fight.

What’s funny is the people who, every time I’ve done this, think it’s the original stream and yell at me to shut the hell up. Those are the best ;-)

Truth. Fair use fights are *expensive* (unfortunately), so often the big guy wins by default even if they are legally in the wrong.
